Come spend time in nature while helping the environment!

CPAWS Québec and Sépaq invite you to walk in nature and enjoy the rich autumnal colours for a good cause on October 8, for the second edition of Thanks to Nature.

What is Thanks to Nature?

Thanks to Nature is an opportunity to thank Nature for what it provides all year round, on Thanksgiving Sunday. What used to be a celebration of the earth's bounty at our table, Thanksgiving Sunday is still the perfect time to show our appreciation to Mother Nature and get together with friends and family.

Whether you want to take a break from your hectic urban life, take care of your health or spend quality time with your family or friends, any reason is a good reason to reconnect with the natural world and give thanks for our stunning surroundings.

Thanks to Nature is also the annual fundraising campaign of SNAP Québec, to help us protect biodiversity and wilderness in Quebec. This year, help us achieve our goal of $25,000!

How does it work?

Create a profile on our donation platform and form a team or join an already existing team. Then, start fundraising to help us showcase the beauty and value of our national parks' natural and cultural heritage.

On October 8th, 2017, go spend time in the wild and reconnect with nature!  Share your experience with #thankstonature

We will be wainting for you in six national parks, with activities related to thanking nature :

- Mont-Saint-Bruno

- Mont-Tremblant

- Îles-de-Boucherville

- Mont-Orford

- Grands-Jardins

- Jacques-Cartier

In the words of spokesperson Michel Rochon, scientific journalist and medical columnist “Thanks to Nature is an event which lets us take a moment to reflect on the value of nature in our lives. Quite simply, we would not be able to live without nature. We are also discovering that the presence of Nature in our lives benefits both our physical and mental health, which is another reason to give thanks.”

What will we do with the collected funds?

- Generate environmental leaders of tomorrow by providing an immersive outdoors experience to the youth of various communities.

- Carry out scientific projects in Québec's national parks while also conserving the flora and fauna

- Support the efforts of CPAWS Québec in relation to expanding the environmentally protected areas around Québec.

This event is made possible through the support and participation of Keurig Canada.

Thanks to Nature is organized in collaboration with the Sépaq, which will draw 12 annual Québec Parks Network cards among the participants! Details to come. Participants should pay their entry fee to the national parks ($8.50 per adult). Free for children 17 years and under.
