I’m running in honor of all those I’ve known who battled cancer.
Special Thanks To
On Monday, April 17th I will run the Boston Marathon to benefit the Vernon Cancer Center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. I was fortunate to be 1 of 10 individuals who won a lottery through NWH which was my ticket to run Boston! I am not obligated to raise funds with winning the lottery bib however I decided that it would by my honor to help raise money for the VCC!. I know the team that works there, and so many of the patients past and present. My goal is to raise money to help them continue to provide their amazing services. I hope you will consider supporting me.
I have experienced personal loss from cancer, losing someone very dear to me. I also worked Oncology for 6 years, 3 of which were at the VCC. I met so many people who bravely fought cancer. I worked closely with them to coordinate their care and witnessed their strength through the most challenging of times. I am running in honor of those who I've known who have beat cancer, and for those who have lost the battle. I am also running for a very special survivor, Beth Gardner, who has battled cancer not once, not twice, but 3x! For her, for them, their family members, and for my loved ones, I hope to help support this much needed cause.
