About Bowl for Kids' Sake

Bowl for Kids' Sake is our largest annual fundraiser, raising over $100,000 annually to support our program. Because of Bowl for Kids' Sake, more Bigs and Littles can be paired up, more friendships can be created and improved outlooks on life can be started. In 2018, we served over 450 children... but we have more than 200 children on our waiting list who we are unable to serve due to both the lack of volunteers and financial support. With your help, we can continue to grow and make an even BIGGER impact on the lives of children across Central Kentucky!
 

Want to get involved? It's easy:

1. Start a team. Teams are typically formed with four to six members. Consider creating a team with family, friends, fraternity brothers, sorority sisters, or co-workers.
2. Start securing donations. Most bowlers raise about $170 each, but many people raise over $1,000. What impact do you want to have? (We ask for a minimum contribution of $250 per team.) 
3. Start bowling. After you have secured your sponsorships, it's time to have fun! You'll receive a free game of bowling (shoe and ball rental included!), a Bowl for Kids' Sake T-shirt, food, drinks, chances to win door prizes, and more!
    

2020 UPDATES AND REMINDERS

• (NEW) LANE RESERVATION FEE - One lane = One team… One team = 4 - 6 Bowlers… and each team has a goal of $500 and is required to turn in a lane reservation fee of $250 on their bowling date. The reservation fee will count toward the team's total. However, if a team is unable to raise the $250 minimum, they will be billed for the remainder after their bowling date. 
• (NEW) GOALS - This year, we are setting a fundraising goal of $500 per bowling team and a $100 fundraising goal per bowler. Teams that reach their fundraising goal will be entered in to win a team prize! Many teams aim to raise $1,000+ each (our top team in 2019 raised nearly $5,000)! This year, teams that raise over $1,000 will be granted VIP status, which means they will receive all-star treatment during their bowling event, featuring perks like more drink and food options, concierge service, and more! In addition to awarding prize tickets to each fundraiser for every $100 raised, we will recognize top fundraisers and teams at our annual appreciation dinner over the summer, so bring your A-game!
• (NEW) THEME - This year, our event theme will be March Madness! We will be awarding prizes for BEST TEAM UNIFORM (whether they be Team T-Shirts, group costumes, etc.), so be sure to get creative!
• BOWLING DATES - BFKS in Fayette County will be held over the course of 2 weekends, with three dates available this year (Friday, March 6; Saturday, March 7; and Friday, March 13). With additional dates, the number of lanes available at each time slot is reduced. While this allows for more teams to participate, we recommend you register as soon as possible to ensure you are able to do so for the date and time you prefer. The Team Captain will be the only participant required to select a date and time. After registration, all other team members will automatically be registered for that time slot.
• BOWLING TIMES - Fayette County bowling times will be 1.5 hours as opposed to 2. However, we encourage teams (especially larger groups) to plan to be there for the entire event on the day you attend (3 hours) to get the full experience. There are 10 lanes reserved for each 1.5 hour time slot. In addition to bowling, there will once again be pizza (from Brooklyn Pizza inside Malibu Jack’s), beverages, drink tickets (Malibu Jack’s offers a full bar!), and prizes for bowlers awarded throughout the event. PLUS, each bowler will also receive (1) voucher to be used at any Malibu Jack’s attraction, including putt putt golf, laser tag, go karts, an indoor 3D motion theater, and more! We encourage you to take advantage of this special offer and check out all of the fun things (besides bowling) that Malibu Jack’s has to offer!

While there’s a lot of fun to be had during BFKS, at the end of the day, it’s really all about defending the potential of hundreds of kids right here in the Bluegrass, and we are so grateful to have your support. We rely heavily on BFKS, as it is our largest annual fundraiser and allows us the opportunity to serve more children each year. In 2019, we raised over $110,000 through Bowl for Kids’ Sake in Fayette, Montgomery, Madison, and Boyle Counties. We can’t wait to see what we accomplish together this year!
